Polymarket App (2026): The Official U.S. App vs the Web App for Everyone Else, and How to Install Both

Whether Polymarket has an app depends on which Polymarket you mean. Since 2026 there are two: the CFTC-regulated Polymarket US, which ships real App Store and Google Play apps for U.S. residents, and the international polymarket.com, which has no native app and instead runs as a progressive web app you install from the browser. This guide covers both, with install steps and an honest look at what each can do.

The store apps are explicit about what they are. The App Store listing's latest release note reads that the exchange is "now CFTC regulated and legal in the United States," and the Google Play description identifies the app as the Polymarket US App. If you are in London, Tokyo or Taipei, those apps are not for you and will not let you trade. U.S. Users: Install the Polymarket US App

1. Open the App Store or Google Play and search "Polymarket". On iOS the listing is "Polymarket: Trade Live Sports" by Polymarket; it needs iOS 18 or later and about 665 MB of space.
2. Install and open it.
3. Create an account and complete identity verification. Have a government ID and your Social Security number ready. See Why Polymarket Needs Your SSN.
4. Fund in dollars through the in-app options.

You can also use polymarket.us in a browser. The international site polymarket.com will not load for U.S. IP addresses.

Everyone Else: Install the Web App

The international site does not have a native app, partly because app stores restrict real-money prediction and crypto apps in most regions. The official mobile route is the PWA, which runs full-screen from a home-screen icon and has every feature of the desktop site: limit orders, the order book, perps, deposits and withdrawals, and 20+ interface languages.

iPhone and iPad (Safari only)

1. Open Safari and go to polymarket.com. Chrome and other iOS browsers cannot install web apps.
2. Sign in first so the installed app remembers you.
3. Tap the Share icon (the square with an up arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
4. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
5. Open Polymarket from the new icon. It launches full-screen without the address bar.

Android (Chrome)

1. Open Chrome and go to polymarket.com, then sign in.
2. Chrome usually shows an "Add Polymarket to Home screen" banner. Tap it.
3. If there is no banner, tap the three-dot menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.

Phones without Google services (Huawei and some others) work the same way through the built-in browser or Chrome. You do not need an APK, and there is no official one.

Troubleshooting

• No "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone? You are not in Safari. Open the page in Safari and try again.
• White screen on launch? Close the app from the app switcher and reopen. A rare Safari cache issue.
• Logged out? Safari occasionally clears site data. Email login restores the session in one tap.
• No install option on Android? Update Chrome. Samsung Internet and other browsers may not offer PWA install.

Perps on Mobile

The international web app includes the full Perps section: the Perps tab in the top navigation, market cards with leverage badges, and the order panel with Market and Limit tabs, Long and Short, the amount field, the leverage slider and the isolated or cross margin switch.

Two cautions. First, the leverage slider is easy to overshoot on a small screen; check the number box before tapping Place Order. Second, perps are blocked for U.S. and Canadian users even on the international site, and the U.S. app does not have them at all. Read the perps guide before your first leveraged trade.

• Use the search bar at the top to jump straight to a market.

• Enable notifications when prompted so you get fills and resolutions.
• Polymarket runs on Polygon, so confirmation speed does not depend on your connection quality.

Security on Mobile

• Outside the U.S., there is no official Polymarket app in any store and no official APK. Install only from polymarket.com.
• Inside the U.S., install only the listing published by Polymarket. Check the developer name before tapping Get.
• Bookmark polymarket.com or use the home-screen icon to avoid phishing lookalikes.
• Lock your phone. Anyone holding your unlocked phone can trade from the installed app.
• Avoid deposits and withdrawals on public Wi-Fi.

Q: Will the international site get a real App Store app? A: Polymarket has not announced one. App store policy on real-money prediction markets outside regulated jurisdictions makes it unlikely in the near term. The PWA is the supported mobile product and gets every site update instantly.
